I just started taken a Scuba class and would like to purchase a new set of regulator after completing. Can anyone recomend for first time buyer type and manufacturer.

Since you are just beginning, before you buy, try different ones.  There are a lot of good ones on the market.  Check out the different dive magazines and their product reviews.  Beside the reg, are you going to add a console computer?  What type of diving are you interested in?  How much diving do you plan to do?
