Looking to get insured soon, what do you guys recommend? I'm traveling to Brazil in January and I'm leaning towards Dive Assure as you can load up on coverage and while in Brazil I rarther go heavy than light!

I think the best insurance for the buck is Vincevia and Buckley's.  However, you will have to get it before the end of the year because this is the last year they will offer it.  You can be covered thru Dec 2007 but cannot purchase it after Dec 31 2006.

Whenever the subject of "dive insurance" comes up I am left wondering what type of dive insurance the diver is actuallu interested in.  There are many types of insurance offered and marketed to divers.  This list is probably not complete:

Dive liability insurance,

Dive accident insurance,

Dive vacation insurance,

Dive equipment insurance,

Diver life insurance,

Dive boat insurance,

Dive store and resort insurance.
