As a new diver in traing; when the time comes to hook up with a buddy, how does one assess the capabilities and training of a potential buddy?

Conversely, how do you assure a buddy that your skills and experiences are up to par?

Sould new divers always seek more experienced buddies?

Thanks

Only a dive will show them how you are in the water,

Sure you can get some hints, like not being able to put their gear together. I find the more people talk on the boat about their abilities and all the certs they have the worse they dive.

Good luck
