Any precautions for diving with Type 2 Diabetes (non-insulin).  Currently well controlled for years with oral medication.  Glucose is well controlled at 100-110.

You should talk to your own doctor about your own case.  DAN can be an excellent resource for up-to-date information on all medical issues that relate to diving.  A large amount of research and new thinking has recently been done on diving and diabetes.  Most diabetics are no longer prohibited from diving.

I am not a medical professional but I have knowledge of diabetes from persons close to me who have suffered from the disease.  Most of the problems relating to diving arise from the use of insulin and the possibility of insulin shock or hypoglycemia.  If you are not insulin dependent, the risks of scuba diving are greatly reduced.

On the navigation bar go to Magazine Articles and find the DAN article about diving with diabetes. DAN is an excellent source of information.

Thanks for the help.  I did check with my doctor and he sees no concern as my condition is very stable and wekk controlled with just a low dose medication and no insulin is needed.

Thanks again
