I have been to Haigh Quarry and Pearl Lake. I am an entry level diver. Are there any other dive locations around the Chicago area that are interesting to dive?

Lake Michigan has lots of great wreck diving.

If you stay in the southern end of the lake the wrecks are shallow. Cut your teeth on those and then move north to the deeper, more intact wrecks.

I operate the dive charter boat, Enterprise, out of Waukegan.  There are a number of wrecks in our area that are suitable for newer divers.  Lady Elgin and Seabird are side-wheeled steamers from the 1860's with great historical significance.  They are both in less than 60 feet of water.  (The Seabird is in 28 feet.)  There are two schooners and a WW I sub chaser near Zion, all in less than twenty feet.  We also have wrecks in the area that are at depth or 100 feet and more.
