TOPIC: Newbie Equipment Question

My fiancé and I just recently got our scuba certification and I have started looking into buying equipment.

Any suggestions on what we should buy right away and what we should rent first? My fiancé and I will be going on our honeymoon in July and were debating what to buy. Any equipment and brands you would suggest would be awesome. Since we are new all the help is very appreciated.

Thanks

Drws10,

Good question on what to buy and what to rent, that will depend on where you intend to go on your honeymoon if you plan to dive there as well.  I would suggest that you both find a wetsuit that will "fit" you properly, and that you feel comforable in.  Go to your LDS and ask for suggestions.  As you progress in the sport you want to move onto your BC, reg setup, computer and all of the fun accessories.  Asthetics play a large role in this as well you will not buy the equipment if it does not catch your eye.  There  is no problem with you renting equipment as it is a good way to try out different brands but remember most of the rental gear is used everyday and is a base line model with no frills.  Check out Our world underwater in Febuary, good place to see everything under one roof.

Happy diving,

Despite the several benefits of the game, diving is very expensive. It's a excellent option to lease equipment before making any allergy choices. Besides providing excellent starting costs for newbies, lease locations usually have experienced personnel that will point you toward the best equipment based on your needs.
