Has anyone dove Bonaire and could you reccomend a dive operator.  Also could you dive from shore here?

I have not been to Bonaire YET, so someone that has should recommend operators.  I do know that many people see it as the shore diving capital of the world!

I don't have anything bad to say about any of the operators and have found most to be closer to excellent than merely good. Here's a link to a discussion group that is usually very frank and very knowledgeable about all things Bonaire...

We just returned from Bonaire.  It's a fabulous place to dive with MULTIPLE shore diving opportunities and dive boating operations.  We stayed at Harbour Village which is the nicest resort on the island.  They have incredible divemasters in a relaxed setting.  A very enjoyable time for us as new divers.  There is some history of theft at many resorts including dive equipment even with lockable (key lock) safes so be careful.  Harbour Village has combination lock safes in all rooms (set by you).  We did not have a problem with this.  The food is great, locals are friendly, and the diving spectacular.  Make sure you do a night dive...it was an amazing experience!  Let me know if you have other questions.

I was there a number of years ago and stayed at the Plaza, which was beautiful, and dove with the house op, Toucan, no complaints.
