I'm new as well and I'm really looking forward to getting into diving.  Thought I'd mention that Bennett Springs in Lebanon, MO is opening for diving, though you have to make reservations because they only allow six divers a day. On Nov. 4th, there is a community service project where divers clean out the spring, dive free, and get food as well.
