I am going to be staying for a week in Islamorada, Fl (in the keys).  I was just wondering if anyone has ever dove in that area?  any suggestions?  I will be visiting all the keys, with Islamorada as my home base, so any insite into other dive spots or just general things for the kids to do there?  Also, what type and size wetsuit should be worn in mid April there?  Thanks

MY family and I have been to Islamorada several times. Conch Republic takes good care. Brenda runs the place and Gary is one  of the captians.

The water is warm so we ussally do not wear a wet suit. a skin is fine. May sure you dive Spegel Grove. It is a great wreak of of Islaorada.

For the kids there is not a whole lot. There is a beach about 20 miles south of Key Largo and one in Key Largo. There is a water show about 20 miles south as well.

There is John Pennecamp park in Key Largo that is ok for snorkeling. Realize there is reef and barrier island s off the keys so there is not alot of sand.

There is a key deer park closer to Key West. We found the key deer along the road side so we did not go into the park.
Key West in more for adults

We took the kid to the key biscayne beaches for a good look at the beaches. They had a great time there.

When it is just me and the wife it is 4 or 5 days of diving. The diving is fantastic.
