This place is heaven.  My wife and I were there in March 2004. Turneffe Island Lodge is a private Island about 30 miles off the coast of Belize.  It is first class all the way.  It only can handle about 30-40 guests on the island each week.  They have private cabanas, which you stay in and all meals are served in the dining room.  The meals are served family style and they are great.  Everyone staying on the island eats together and you get to hear all types of stories from the fisherman staying on the island as well as the divers stories.

All your dives are within a few minutes of the island except for the day trip to the blue hole.  The staff and crew are wonderful.  We never saw another dive operation around due to the distance from the mainland.  We dove the Elbow every morning.  This is a wall drift dive, which was amazing.  One morning we had a pod of dolphins swim up and take a peek at us.

This is definitely a place we are planning to go back to.
