I am heading to Grand Cayman in March.  Wondering if anyone has suggestions on dive shops.  I have read some reviews on undercurrents but still looking for other opinions.

Have not yet had the pleasure of diving Grand Cayman.  But, my friends tell me that it has some of the best diving in the world.  Suggest you check out scubadiving.com and check trip reports from the Caymans.  It won't take long to learn which dive operations provide the best experiences.

Enjoy!

I was there in Oct. '05 about 3 wks before Hurricane Katrina passed near that area. Visibility was 80-100'. The diving in my opinion was above average, but to me the real value would be a place like Cozumel. Then again, that just got hit as well. Our cayman trip was in the low season and I've now been told the best time to visit is winter... Dec.- April. I will say we we did an incredible night dive on the wreck Ora Verde ( OV) . Another highlight was an 8' whitetip shark on a wall. We were in West Bay at 100-110' in Orange Canyon, with the shark 30' below us. Stingray City is pretty cool as well. Red Sail Sports is one operator that runs out of the Hotels... Westin, Hyatt, etc. Dive Tech is another highly recommended operator according to Capt. Darrick. I did not have the chance to use them, but Red Sail did go to North Bay as well. On some of the sites we visited, we were moored next to Dive Tech anyway. Talking to some of the divers in our resort at the Westin.. they were spreading their dives around. Some at Red Sail, some at Dive Tech and some at a different operator. Bring your cash... you will spend a ton of it here!!! Best regards and happy diving! Cubfan Chris
