I just purchased a Sherwood Avid BC and it fits like a glove. There is some sturdy Stainless hardware attached to the BC. I also purchased a prokit which has a backup light on a retractor, a backup Akona knife, and a retractable clip for the computer. The prokit makes the gear package very streamlined and neat. I was having trouble deciding what regulator to buy, it was between a Sherwood Maximus (which is what my instructor dives) or a Genesis GS2000. I chose the GS2000 because of the traditional over the shoulder mount instead of the Maximus which costs more and has a under the arm mount which is non traditional. I trained with a Sherwood Wisdom computer which won a Testers Choice award from Scuba Diving Magazine. I like the intuitive display and the fact that I can download the dive log to my PC. I am really pleased with my purchases. I am sure this gear is very durable and will last at least 10 years.

I also have the Sherwood Avid BC and I would agree. The backpad is very comfortable and you feel as if it were a custom fit. I would highly recommend this BC. I also have the Sherwood Maximus regulator. While it is an under arm style, which takes some getting used to, I have been very pleased with the performance. It doesn't pull or spit like some rentals I used when I first started diving.

I've been doing a lot of research on a reg to buy. My head has been spinning. I think I have decided on the Sherwood. Hadn't really started looking at BC's yet, but I will check out the Sherwood.
