I've been diving in fresh water my whole life. And I'm very comfortable with taking care of my scuba gear after a good days use in fresh water. I'm planning a trip where we will be diving in salt water. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if there are any big differences in taking care of scuba gear after it's been in salt water? Thanks!

If you have a pool in the facility you will be staying, " accidently " drop your gear in the pool the last day after completing diving. Every night, take it back to your room, place in the bath tub and fill with water. Salt will destroy your gear. Quickly !

Most dive ops will have a dunk tank, use it. The longer you can soak gear like regs and computers, the better.

Take your mask and snorkel back to your room and soak in fresh water.
Some areas have had problems with transmission of pink-eye when masks are soaked in a comunal rinse tank.
