TOPIC: Bonne Terre Mines Trip Report

On Friday, January 12, 2007, Chicago Scuba Meetup members Eric, Jim, Mike, Erin and I packed up our gear and made the 5+ hour trek to Bonne Terre Mines for a quick weekend dive trip.

After reading the stories posted on this forum, I was a little nervous.  This was the first dive trip I'd planned for the Chicago Scuba Meetup, and I wanted everyone to have a good time.  I did NOT want any drama.

Well, the only drama we experienced was underwater - and it was the good kind of drama.  I had a fabulous time diving the mines, and I very much look forward to going back.

I thought the staff at the mines were courteous, professional, and helpful.  On several occasions they went way out of their way for us.

We left early due to weather (what IS it with weather in Missouri, anyway?!?), and received a credit for our missed dives.  There was no haggling or hassle involved, either. The shop said, "Sure, your credit is in the system now."

If you'd like to read others' reports of the trip, check the last page of the thread on the Chicago Scuba Meetup's message board:
