Has anybody ever dove at Bonne Terre Mines? I hear this is an exceptional dive site. I see it listed as a local dive site with a link, but would be interested in learning more about it from other divers. Would anybody like to make a trip to this facility? I have heard that even Jaques Cousteau dove in this location and featured it in one of his documentaries in the early 70's.

I always liked to dive Bonne Terre in the early spring.  The warmer weather gets there a little before it does in Chicago.  Also, the water is a bit warmer.  This time of year, when we are chomping at the bit, waiting for the season on Lake Michigan to start, it is a good "first dive of the season."
Safe diving,

Bonne Terre is a terrific dive for we snow birds year round!  I was there for three spectacular dives last February with some buddies on a Saturday and the water was fine with a 5mm wetsuit.
