My husband and I would, but they won't let us bring in a non-diver under the age of 12. (our son)  I'll ask if my husband wants to go without the boy and I.

Okay guys- who was the water on Sunday?  I am dreaming about diving at night and it has only been two weeks- this is really, really sad.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a warm spot to dive in the winter that would be less than 8 hours from chicago by car?

F.Y.I.  Dove Haigh today 10/25/06   Vis. at least 60 feet, water temp at all depths 56.  The day was bright and clear.  We used a construction heater in the building and kept it at a nice 70+ degrees.  Everybody had a great time. Attending were divers from Elk Grove Fire Dept., Hoffman Estates F.D. and the Chicago Aquanauts Scuba Club.  Please consider joining us at our Wednesday Hooky Dives next year.  Dates should be posted at www.casascuba.org

I was in the water at Haigh on Sunday, along with a few more people than I expected.  A charter people were taking was shut out that day due to waves on Lake Michigan, so they showed up here.  Water in the quarry was great, warmer than the air temperture, so we liked being in the water.

I want to go back this weekend, especially since the air temp is expected to be warmer than last week.  Who else?  The season at the quarry closes November 19th, so I want to take advantage of as many good days as possible.

Did you like the present I left you?

We would like to go, but we don't have anyone to watch our son if we go and he can't be alone on the shore because he is under 12.

Maybe my husband will go as  the boy and I trick or treating.  How far is Haigh from upper Lake County?  My husband is playing the sax for a band Sunday night and has to be back by 5pm.

I'm gonna put out the bait again for closest warm dive from Chicago....anyone, Bueller?

We may go to Merrimet Springs (?sp) the weekend after Thanksgiving with a group from our dive shop.  It's nice because those on the shore watch the little ones while we dive.  All of our kids do bubblemakers/seal team together.

Yes, it's too bad most quarries aren't really equipt to do that.  I have yet to go to Mermet, but I have heard very good things about it.

Thanks for the information.  We might be doing a run in Chicago tomorrow- depends on what the weather is and how late I get out of the hospital tonight.

Any local hot springs around here?

We've only lived here for 3 years...I could kick myself for not diving while I lived in Massachusetts.

Sorry George, didn't get your post.  I hope to be back again next weekend.  I will give you a call if I do.  Haigh closes on the 19th, so want to get as many dives in as possible.
