Anybody want to go diving this weekend?

I've booked space on Dale Bennett's boat, the Enterprise, out of Waukegan Harbor this Saturday morning. Dale is a long-time local charter Captain, for those of you who might not know him. He runs a solid boat that is very well set up for divers and visits some of the better wrecks in the area.

If you want a seat, call Dale at (847) 640-8113 and book your space. You can also visit his website for more information about his operation, including maps to the harbor. We'll be meeting at the dock at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday morning and returning at about noon. If you can stay a little late, tradition has it that we make time for pizza and an adult beverage or two after the dive.

We haven't picked our sites yet but we will be staying well within recreational limits - though we will be doing at least one dive at about 100ft. For those who are looking for a chance to get some experience diving the lake with a couple of easy dives on a well-run boat, this will be a good opportunity.

Summer is officially here and the weather forecast for Saturday (as of this morning) is for calm water, sunny skies and moderate temperatures, perfect weather for diving. Come join the fun!

Wish I could make it, Steven. I had a great weekend with Dale a few weeks ago including three dives on the wreck Wisconsin: Woo-Hoo! I'll be back later this season for sure.

Have a good one!

I wish I could make it too. I am going to make a point of diving in Lake Michigan at least once this summer with Captain Dale. But instead, I'm going to have a lot of fun laying brick pavers this weekend.
