A few weeks ago, we blogged about some upcoming changes to the website. Along with adding new features, we're giving the website a facelift. We've had several designers submit their own ideas of what they think the new website should look like (with guidance from us). We have narrowed it down to two designs. Since this is your website too, we'd like to hear what you think.

Please take a few minutes to view each design and submit comments on overall look, colors and layout. Does it look like it would be easy to navigate? Would you change anything? Please don't be too concerned about the exact placement of items. What we're trying to decide is which design is better overall for everyone visiting the site.

Keep in mind that these designs are just the homepage...but they give an excellent representation of what the entire site will look like. And make sure you view the design in full format. Some browsers will shrink it in the window so it fits.

View Design #1

View Design #2

Thank you very much for your help!

At first, you'll notice a huge difference between the designs. The first is very professional and edgy, while the second is more colorful and playful. We see pros and cons to each...what do you think?

I personally like the first one better.  It seems more straightforward, more elegant.  The second one looks to "busy" to me

Thanks, Dean.

Everyone Else:
Please do not read other people's comments until after you post your own. I'd hate for your response to be influenced by others. Thanks!

I like the first one. It looks more streamlined and easier to navigate. I also like the different shades of blue on the website overall. The other one had too many colors and you almost feel overwhelmed by where to go first. Just my opinion. Good luck!!

Brian, I like the first one, looks more professional and easier to follow.  I also just found out what lorem ipsum is, so I've learned my new thing for the day.

I'd say the first one.  The colors are better and it feels a bit cleaner.  It's also a more intuitive design.

just my 2 cents...

First one.

I am not the one who needs mental help. I just need to vent.

This isn't much of a competition. It looks like the first design is the winner. If you have anymore comments regarding the first first design, please let me know. Thanks again to everyone who has left feedback.

I will vote for the first one. It looks clean and easy to navigate through. The other one looks a little cluttered.

Thanks again to everyone for their comments. It was close (yeah, right), but we decided to go with the first one. We've already got the designers moving areas around a little on the homepage so things are easier to find. We also have them working on the other pages. It's turning out very good and I'm sure you will all be very pleased. Expect to see it live in 2-3 weeks.

NOt sure I like either one.

But, if I had to choose I would go for the 1st one. The second does not seem as orginized. I'm not sure if that is the way I would say it but it comes to mind.

The 1st is very harsh. Mabey soften the backround color???

sobfrogg,

I definitely see your point. The blue is very bold and dark. That's why we wanted to present everyone an edgier design and a more playful design. We're working with the designer to change #1 a little...maybe we'll see if they can give it a little more "life".
