I have my basic certification complete and want to get my rescue diver certification. My health club doesn't offer CPR training. Has anyone gone through CPR training? If so, where? I'm in the city, but would travel to the burbs too.

If you Email me I will give you my friend Dan's contact info he had an instructor teach privately in his own home for the same cost as the Red Cross. This is what this instructor does, teach by appointment in homes. You can also call Rea Kulic at the Forest Grove Athletic Club in Palatine Il.. I am sure Rea can accomodate most everyone's schedule.

The "at home" CPR instructor is Cindy Zaban.  Her company is called Heartworks CPR, and she and  her partner will come to your home (evening hours) with all the necessary gear -- including the requisite defibrillator simulator.  The complete training takes no more than two hours and you'll have your cert cards for AED use, along with pediatric and adult CPR.  Cost is $50 per person.  Both my wife and I got the training.

You can reach her most easily at her day job at the Wilmette Rec Center.

I hope this helps!

As a follow up, I'm in my office and now have the phone numbers.  Cindy can be reached at home at 773-775-2367, or at work at 847-256-9113.  She lives in the City, so I'm confident the "at home" option will be available to you.

Steve, is that you?

My work place at one time did express an interest in CPR training for at least some of our people.  Is your course Red Cross or EFR?  What hours are you available and what will be the cost including materials?

Yep, that's me. I'm an Instructor with the Red Cross and EFR and they both teach the same basic skills, so take your pick. How much is going to depend upon what class you want to take, how many students, where you are located, etc - just a little too complicated for a simple answer. I'll get in touch with you off the list tomorrow so we can discuss more details.
